Melanie’s enthusiasm for fitness, high energy, and love for the outdoors turned into a passion for health. Intrigued by the workings of the human body, Melanie first completed an undergrad in Kinesiology at York University. Working for many years as a kinesiologist at a multidisciplinary clinic, Melanie taught exercise programs and assisted patients with various modalities. She felt compelled to further her studies when she learned the benefits of holistic osteopathic medicine that facilitates a long-term preventative approach to health.
Given her understanding of body-mechanics and her belief in the principle that all structures in the body are interconnected, she sought out a modality that provided a full body approach to understanding and correcting injury. This modality, osteopathic medicine, recognizes the importance of body, mind and spirit and achieves balance in the body; the principle underlying osteopathy is that the body has an amazing capability to heal itself given the chance.
